With Yales win against Cornell, last night Yale is assured at least a share of the title. With a win against Columbia Saturday night. Yale will be the outright champion. Go Bulldogs.!!

With 28 points tonight, on 11 of 19 shooting from the field, Poulakidas appears as the clear frontrunner to receive the IL's Player of the Year award.

To be undefeated in conference play this late into the season a significant accomplishment. However, nothing is guaranteed for The Bulldogs Men BB not even a NIT bid. Regular season conference title to me feels like a provisional championship. It’s the conference tournament that defines a team’s season.

When the “Ivy Madness” Tournament was instituted, the league home office said the regular season winner is the official Ivy Champion. Then why must the regular season “champion” have the same pathway of gaining entrance to the NCAA Tournament as second-fourth seed teams?
Where is their reward for a good regular season? Last year 4th seed Brown(13-18) fell one basket short of gaining the NCAA spot.

I personally love conference tournaments and seeing a losing team come out of nowhere to get a NCAA Tournament spot but they should not have a same obstacle as the top seed.

Other conferences have fist round byes for top teams, why not the Ivy?

My suggestion for ILT Quarterfinal: #3 vs.#4 Semifinal:QF vs. #2 Final: SF vs. #1

With that said in a few weeks I look forward to seeing an Ivy MBB team making some noise in March Madness, Just as HYP has regularly done so over the past ten years.

On the women’s side Harvard , Columbia and Columbia look very strong. Ivy WBB deserves at least two bids into the NCAA Tournament.

In case anyone was wondering why he’s no longer on the team. I thought it was because he was injured. They seem to be better without him as it has resulted in more playing time for Simmons, the extremely athletic 4 Star transfer from Northwestern.

By him leaving. It didn’t even make ripple in the water. It gave opportunities to other players. Who put the team first. Everyone thought with Wolf gone, would be Yale’s demise. Bye bye Primadonna..

And he's fortunate to have such a consistent shooter to give the ball to & build up that triple-double stat.

Gentlemen; this squad is an all-around and cohesive team much like our 1961–19 62 squad.

It is an accident waiting to happen that a superlative team like the Elis this season will trip up in the ILT and be deprived of the League’s single invite to the NCAAs. I guess there’s a good reason we call it March MADNESS.😟. I’m torn between rooting FOR Yale to win what it justly deserves or AGAINST them to highlight the inequity of the stakes of 2 game outing vs. a 14 game season. I know, I know, you’ve heard this all before. It still stinks.

Yale shall prevail; a hiccup may be experienced within the next two weeks (which won't necessarily be a bad thing), however, I believe James Jones will lead his team to, at least the doorstep of, March Madness!

Tiger 69 has raised the concern which is certainly worrisome and on the minds of Yale BB fans. What a shame it would be if Yale's only loss is in the Ivy tournament which would deprive this championship team from going to March Madness which is what happened to Princeton last year. If Yale has an undefeated regular season, an Ivy tournament loss would really sting.
The league needs to find a way to avoid diminishing the importance of a league championship and the risk of causing a major disappointment to the players who strive to get that Ivy trophy but miss out on the NCAA tournament.

Yale has won the ILT three times--and each time as the #2 seed.

So it's hard to feel too bad for them if they get knocked off this time.

GG posits a false analogy. When Yale teams won ILT as #2 seeds, they were legitimate contenders for regular season title. This year, Yale has left rest of League sucking wind….

If Yale wants to make a rule that if the regular season champ has a 4-game lead (or more) than the second-place team, then the ILT is cancelled and the regular season champ goes to the NCAA tournament, then they are free to throw their weight around to make it happen.

Indeed, many of us suspect that the ILT was created because Yale got completely frozen out of post-season play back in 2015.

And Ivy League football implemented instant replay after Yale got hosed on an incorrect call in 2017.

Playoff games should be in the home arena of the higher ranked team, period.

Dartmouth trying to solidify its position in 2nd place. Yale trying to go undefeated ever in Ivy play.
