Indeed, in the Ivy League, there would be press releases and self-congratulations for all administrators remotely associated with that development. M3 is correct. There are almost zero women who could make a collegiate men's basketball team. The reason you know this is true: It hasn't happened. I could see a sharp-shooting woman with a great handle being an asset on offense. The problem is, "What do you do on defense?" For a coach like Jim Boeheim who loves playing zone, you might try putting her up top. Maybe you play a 2-3 zone with the woman up top, responsible for taking away one side of the perimeter. But the moment that she is responsible for any part of interior defense, you're going to have a problem. And obviously man-to-man is out of the question. A female place-kicker would have no problem at all and a few have already seen the field. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]

Some give off a negative vibe and look as if they expect their teams feed off to lose before even taking the court. I have always felt about Engles that he gives off a defeatist vibe.
