... at least for the men's winter sports.

Hockey clinches at least a share of the Ivy title.

Basketball clinches a spot in the Ivy League Tournament (first ever for either gender).

Parties in Hanover tonight!!!

If DC can claim an Ivy hockey title, it would be grounds for wild celebrations there, given the paucity of Ivy titles in Hanover in recent years, which I found surprising. But unfortunately, while a solid achievement, an Ivy hockey title and $10 will only get you a dozen eggs. Automatic NCAA bids are determined in the ECAC 12 team League playoffs. There, DC MIH have had a good year, just missing a first round bye, which they could have had if they had beaten P in Hanover. An at-large bid is likely for at least one ECAC team which doesn’t win the automatic bid.

P MIH have a first year coach and I look forward to seeing if he can build up the program, which has been a tough task for several decades. He seems like a good choice. We finished 9th in the ECAC this year.

I get that the ECAC and NCAAs are the goal. But an Ivy title is something to celebrate. Pretty sure that we have banners in Thompson Arena recognizing Ivy titles. And I assume that the players get rings as well....

It’s a worthy accomplishment tied or sole, and I assume there are awards for all League etc. Well done. It just only means spit for the NCAAs. BTW, tge ECAC standings looks a bit confusing today compared to last evening.

By “Parties in Hanover tonight!” he means it’s Saturday.

I did my part last night, not entirely in honor of Dartmouth men's ice hockey, but you guys were on the periphery of my celebrating.

Seriously, congratulations.

Bengal is of course correct that an Ivy League championship means nothing for post-season eligibility but, in that sense, it's very much like an Ivy League football title pre-2025. So still very much worth commemorating.

In the words of the well known philosopher Kool & The Gang, "So bring your good times and your laughter, too. We gonna celebrate your party with you. Come on."

One of my college roommates said something during one of our semi-annual boys' weekends to the beach. He quipped, "When I have a reason to be happy, I wallow in it." I've tried to embrace what he said as a rule for living.

The world around us has made that more difficult since he said it. It's like the defense just went to a full court press. We've got to react and adapt. Let's get down the court and look for a open shot.
