While not all of his books may have been literary gems, John Feinstein was a steady suporter of ivy principles.

I was a fan of his and own several of his books. Also enjoyed his WaPo columns.

And my favorite blogger (who was pretty close Feinstein's age) passed away last week as well.

Oh gee. I got to meet him and chat for a moment during a trip he made to Princeton in preparation for what I guess was his last book. He was in the middle of interviewing some players, at Jadwin. Always enjoyed his reporting and commentary. A great contributor to our understanding and thinking about sports and what we are seeing whether on the screen or in person.

Met him many many years ago when he was just starting out at WaPo; enjoyed his columns and books over the years.
