Tonight, D 9 Penn 8 in OT.

Six Ivies could be ranked in Top 20 Monday, all except Yale.

Cornell's attackman Michael Long went out with an injury, hope it's not too serious.

Kirst scoring, I believe, 8 goals on 9 shots (on his way to 9G) is extraordinary. Things can always change but no question my mind Cornell deserves #1 ranking at this time.

I don't see how Penn can be ranked right now with a 4-5 record and no wins over a top 20 team or even a team receiving votes. Not sure what the problem is in Philly. They have talent.

Standings this week will be a flaming mess — five top 20 teams, including UMd, lost to unranked opponents yesterday. Even Rutgers, Princeton’s only unranked opponent so far, beat Hopkins and may well be ranked too.

Nice win for Cornell at Yale. Despite the record Yale is a good team. The one area Cornell needs to improve is physicality on defense. Go Big Red!

New rankings:

1. Cornell
2. Maryland
3. Ohio State
4. Princeton
5. North Carolina

ALL of the above got at least one first-place vote. NONE is undefeated.

13. Harvard
18. Dartmouth
Getting votes: Penn

Brown beat a Top 20 team and didn’t advance. Yale could be the best no-vote team in the country.

Oh yeah — the highest ranked undefeated team is…
FAIRFIELD at #12.

Sure.
