In reply to: Ed S. 's message, "Ivy League Men's Lacrosse Tournament" on 21:29:52 05/02/25 Fri

Eli and Tigers very tight in national rankings around number 4-8, with the edge to Tigers based on earlier win and stronger SOS. Neither should suffer much in NCAA seeding from a loss, but a win could boost the winner a notch or two.

Similar gamesmanship as men’s match — they COULD meet again in the NCAAs if the draw is unfavorable.

Women’s Ivy season overall has been so closely competitive that anything can happen. Halftime score may be of very little import, last quarter almost guaranteed to be a slightly moderated assault on wheels.

Yale comes out firing and never lets up, dominating another Top 10 team 17-6.
Huge surprise, will give the NCAA selection committee a lot to digest — their watch list had Princeton 7, Yale 8.

Going from up by 4 (14-10) in the 3Q to losing by 5 (20-15) after Cornell went on a 9-0 run is not what you want the NCAA Committee to be thinking about later today with the seeding to be announced tonight. If they had lost by say, 2, then I think they still had an excellent chance at a #2 seed, given MD's loss yesterday and the play through 3 quarters was good enough. Now, I hope they hang onto the #3 seed Those faceoffs are a killer. I cannot remember seeing as many procedural violations as Tigers had. Maybe the short turn around had something to do with it, but Cornell only had an extra couple of hours.

Stranger things have happened, but I will be shocked Cornell is not playing Memorial Day. They deserve their praises.

Great game by both teams. Cornell found their groove in the 3rd period and closed it out in the 4th.

Cornell has a lot of weapons on offense besides CJ Kirst. Hope they advance all the way to the final.
