Columbia really shot itself in the foot too many times this season. The loss to Cornell was unconscionable, the loss to Penn after the PTon high and the first Harvard loss where they blew a big lead. If you are going to be an elite team, you have to win these games. Had they won the regular season Ivy title and lose to Pton in the Ivy tournament, they would have made the field.

I agree in all respects with Roar EE's characterization of the Columbia Women's Basketball Team. Columbia was certainly not an elite team in the three games he mentioned. However, the Lions are likely to be selected tonight to play in the WBIT which has been significantly upgraded from last year by the NCAA to reflect the huge growth of women's sports. Hopefully, the new format will attract some of the big name schools that have elected in the past not to play in the WBIT's predecessor. If so, Columbia will have another chance at redemption.
