This new tournament could be a quality postseason event. Given a broader appraisal, The Lady Lions got cheated. I still believe, unlike the Men's NIT, The WBIT is a worthwhile endeavor.

Got cheated by the officials' call at the end of overtime? Or got cheated by the NCAA selection committee?

I can't see how, given the loss to Harvard in the ILT, it would have been appropriate for the Lions to receive an at-large bid.

Now if you want to talk about the officials' call, that's a different discussion.

In My opinion, it was the selection committee that cheated The Lions. Look at their outstanding performance last five years. Perhaps, it was Columbia's one and done NCAA Tournament exits that prompted the committee to pass on them. The Lions are fortunate enough to have a elite coach as Megan Griffith and to be playing in the postseason.

It isn’t about the previous 4 years. Who did they beat of note this season besides Princeton? Even Griffin in the postgame did not claim Columbia deserved an at large bid as she did one season. She noted the CBIT.
