It's kind of funny how even graduates of, collectively as a conference, the most prestigious universities in the land still crave respect, as if we had graduated from the local community college. We know that we're overflowing with academic respect, but still crave athletic respect. We complain mightily at perceived slights in bids, seeding and even betting lines (although the latter we should celebrate). Now here come the Columbia women, a mere #4 seed, being respected by the betting public and being anointed as the favorite over the #1 seed.
