Lauren has a tough act to follow. Carla Nerube was an amazing 77-7 in regular season Ivy games.

Given a seven-year tryout, Mack and Berube have only themselves to blame if this doesn’t work. Of course the standards are insane.

Tiger women’s basketball is one of the greatest Ivy success stories of the last fifteen years. Excelsior!

I think it is a fine hire. She has been a pretty good recruiter, although having a UCONN national champion HC certainly helped. And I assume the Xs and Os will be fine. We’ll see. The team reacted with ecstasy when Mack announced it to them. She has a great Div. II playing resume. And I think she overlapped one year with the Tufts Admissions Director before the latter took over at P. Hopefully she has a good repoire there which is crucial. Berube of course knew her well which was a plus when she became HC.

She will get to pick at least 2 assistants and a director of operations.

The big hole in her resume is never having been a HC. Plenty of first time HCs have done well at P and elsewhere in the League (Banghart, Madalon, Griffith etc), some haven’t. She inherits 4 veteran starters, and while she will have to deal with an undersized lineup again and thin experience in reserve, they all have good potential including commits who I hope stay committed.

I was surprised we didn’t bring in a true big this year and hope Lauren views that as a priority.
