Has Coach Reno discussed this game with any press this week? Is he ok? There was some speculation that he has not been feeling well. I saw a local TV station in MT. did a big sit-down interview with the MT State coach discussing this week's game. It would be nice to hear from our coach and hear some thoughts about this week's game.

also is our two deep on the Yale website correct? I thought there were some injuries to our Wrs. Please advise

Enjoy the game and GO BLUE!!

Do not ever believe what you see in a two-deep.

He would have done well there and been paid multiples of his current compensation, but UConn looked elsewhere (or he didn’t want it): https://uconnhuskies.com/news/2025/12/6/uconn-announces-jason-candle-as-new-head-football-coach

Just saw the post game presser as well, Coach McGowan accompanied the players, not Coach Reno. Hope all is ok.

It’s now been announced that he’s taking a medical leave of absence. Prayers for him and his family.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for Coach. Here's a great oped from one of his former players that I think so many of us that wore the Y can relate to

I have no inside information. I have no medical degree and everything I think is from watching on television and in person. But to me, it appears that Coach Reno has suffered a stroke. He appears to be seriously compromised.

I hope that I am wrong, but I expect that we will soon see him retire after a triumphant season and the wonderful end to his career.

Again, I hope that I'm wrong, but that's how it looks to a guy with no medical education.

I wish Coach Reno all the best, medically and otherwise.

Yale has announced that Tony Reno is taking a medical leave of absence. No information on the medical issue. Sean McGowan, the defensive coordinator (defensive head coach, he’s been called this year) will take over as the acting head coach.

A poster on the reddit thread says that Reno had to be physically held up on the sidelines for the YSU game.

A full and smooth return to good health for the coach. I think of Cappy Cappon dying in the Dillon Gym shower next to Eddie Donovan and get all misty.

In his profile of Cappon, Selden Edwards noted that he'd "never been able to get that image from my mind, of the two naked old men on the tile floor, Silent Ed cradling Cappy Cappon in his arms. Something out of Michelangelo."

I know discussion here has been muted, and the Reno family is entitled to all the privacy it wants, but I wanted to now express my hope for his full recovery. It chilled me when I first read about reports concerning his health. It was concerning enough, but just a few years after the loss of Teevens, it felt ominous and disturbing and I couldn’t bring myself to comment. I remember being shocked months after his accident reading that Teevens was not “out of the woods yet,” having thought that his life was out of danger and it was only a question of how much of a recovery he would have. And of course doubly shocked when he died. I hope we see Reno back on the sidelines, and as strong a recovery as possible.
