I think Harvard is going to surprise a few teams in the playoffs.

I like the Dartmouth team. For 70 years they have put forth very competitive teams. In today's environment, I wonder if their woodsy venue is a turnoff to minority players who are more accustomed to urban environments. Perhaps someone who knows can comment on this. D lost on Saturday, but it was not for lack of effort. Simply put, H had better players at every position.

For the second week in a row, Brown was unable to run on the opponent and unable to stop them when it counted. Instead of drawing up fancy plays, Perry needs to ask himself the same question I am asking of him, how can Penn rush for 231 yards (5.6/carry) and Brown rush for 33 Yards (1.5/carry)? Despite some bad officiating, Brown has no complaint about losing this game. You should lose when your opponent controls both lines.

It is good to see Cornell coming to life. The more competitive the league, the better it is for everyone.

What happened to Columbia this year? Is it possible they are worse than Brown? We will soon find out.

Yale is beginning to find their sea legs and that is not good news for Brown who they play this week.

Well enough said, I am finished shaving and now it is time for a shower.

But if Dartmouth wins out, going 8-2 is hardly anything to apologize for.

While I do not know how many players on the Dartmouth roster are minorities, I'd say that it's pretty close to half. That percentage is lower than the average NFL team, but also likely to be comparable to fellow Ivy squads.

Skimming through rosters, the following are the number of African American players for each team:

Harvard: 39

Dartmouth: 50

Brown: 30

Yale: 42

When I was watching the H vs D game I was surprised to see as many minorities on the D squad as appeared. But these stats tend to bear it out. Once again, this has to be a big feather in D's cap. Of course, it is a great school with a great football tradition and that has to help, but I also think D does a great job of recruiting.

Teevens was a fine recruiter. But at least on paper, McCorkle seems to have turned recruiting up a notch.

That (potentially) going 8-2 seems like a disappointment for Dartmouth is saying something...
