Subject: Thoughts on the Dayton Game

After last night's loss to Dayton a couple things come to my mind.

1) Who will score is about as mystifying as with the men. In the previous game Kreager scored 3 and folks were wondering what was wrong. Last evening she scored 24. Piipari scored 28 and last night scored 2 (1-16!!!!).

2) When Coach Balcomb sits down all her starters (except Amy) en masse as she did at one point last night, it does seem to signal to me that all may not be well, as some people have been indicating here. Again the announcers were commenting on lack of spirit and enthusiasm and Balcomb pretty much hinted at that in the post-game interview on WVXU.

I did not go to the game, so am unable to speak from first hand experience, but what I picked up listening to the radio broadcast was not encouraging to me. Again, I am not down on the team and will continue to be one of their biggest rooters. I have to believe they will get it together though I am getting less sure it will be this season. But I do have to tell it like I see it.

- The last second desperation shots, the lack of getting back on defense, poor passes, etc. are things that those not at the games do not see in the box score. -- DAve, 10:31:03 01/05/02 Sat
