Walt, Unfortunately you are confused in that the house you mention on the backlot of the CBS Studio Center was for the California episodes of the show (Seasons 8-12; 1967-72). The first seven seasons (1960-67) filmed the interiors of the Douglas house at Desilu Studios in Hollywood where a full size replica of the Bryant Park home was fashioned. Whilst astute viewers will notice several anomalies such as the front yard being smaller on the studio built replica than the real life southern California location of the "real" house that it is based on. The address of this house is 837 Fifth Avenue -- not 837 Mill Street as given on the show, and presumably it is in a real life Los Angeles suburb -- BUT no one can tell us where or if it even exists anymore. Thanks for your efforts to locate the 2nd "Californian" house which was as you stated was a house on the backlot of the studio. This house unfortunately was pulled down in 1992 after many years of disuse and was destroyed, I believe to make way for parking at the studio facility.
