Dude, I love those sites.

I'm actually really surprised that the difference in energy density is only a factor of 2.5 to 4. I had imagined having to build a woodshed on deck to use a wood stove...

One thing I wonder is whether that wood density figger of 600-900 Kg/m^3 is just the wood. If not, then it would be much less dense when you include all the air space wasted when you stack cord wood.

Still, food (fuel?) for thought.
