I agreee there is a place for both the ideas (and ideals) of both the oar club and seasteading. One has to do with engineless sailing, the other with a lifestyle of making your home on the sea. The 2 can go together, but dont have to. I intend to do both, but most people wont. I think the idea of the oar club will have the widest appeal to most folks.

I have been shopping for a good "oar club" boat up and down the West coast and it is appalling to me what a big deal everyone makes about engines. most the ads go to great lengths to document the type and power of the motor, when it was rebuilt, the service record, etc and almost as a post-script they will say something like "oh yeah and I think there is a big bag of sails in there too..." DOH. I am happy to help support keeping the idea of the oar club alive. I dont know if it is a cost thing, an interest thing, or a time thing, but if someone knows how we can fire the site up again, let me know . I am no Rockafeller but I may be able to help a bit.

If anyone knows of a good oarclub boat in the So Cal area, please let me know.
thanks
