Wayne, Archery season has always been and I personally support it staying that way, that you be allowed to harvest a doe along with a buck! IT'S TRUE PRIMATIVE HUNTING...

This is how The FWC is shutting Hunters out:

1- three point or better: which is the maucure breeders that the FWC want you to Take ONLY! these are less then 45% of the deer taken on most WMAs on average!= Drop in harvest rate...
2- elimanating the takeing of Does during archery while implimenting the three point rule! = DROP IN HARVEST RATE..
3- Non-transferable permits: the probability that this will put less hunters in the woods do to the transfer of the permit is very high! impossible to believe that there will be more deer harvested with this system implimented...
4- family hunts: if you look at the new ones, they are three point or better so contrary to what the FWC is stating, they allow a doe to be taken at these hunts! Allowing one deer period per youth hunting would be a better solution, if as the FWC state, does are in short supply!

Add up all of this and Public land hunting has become nothing more then a government lease without QDM fully implimented as is done on private leases...

HOW AFTER PUTTING ALL THIS INTO PLAY CAN THE FWC GET NEW HUNTERS INVOLVED? WITH LESS CHANCE TODAY THEN IN THE LAST 10 YEARS TO HARVEST A DEER... NO FOODPLOTS, SUPLIMENTAL FEEDING, NO SCOUTING ABILITY AND REDUCED DAYS TO ACTUALLY HUNT 80% OF WMAs, OF COURSE THIS NEW, USE IT OR LOOSE IT QUOTA SYSTEM THAT'S BEING BROUGHT UP! Harvest deer is why we HUNT...

Wayne, these and all post with my name attached are just that, MY Opinions! how the UHF acts upon the rule changes is done as a group, you can be sure the UHF is very much involved in all rule changes involving Deer hunting in Florida! Let's remember something here, just because some ruleS makes it Fair for all hunters doesn't mean it's the Best thing in the long run to getting More hunters in the woods and HARVESTING DEER, the last two words is the difference in bringing a CAMARA or a GUN!
