I'm taking about the post where you said....."As for the last question, look at the Toso Pamplet, read the Quota infomation portion... the UHF was informed about this and asked to help get hunters onboard, The reason for the change was to keep hunters from making certain WMAs, this one in general, their personal lease by keeping or obtaining all the permits they could! i seen it in action this year seen them stamp the permit seen the person who killed the deer hunting license looked at and their name put on the harvest sheet!"

What change at Toso are you talking in the above quote? I see a one deer per quota permit in the regs and assumed thats what you where talking about. Have you not also suggest one deer per quota or hunter to help eliminate some of the gaming caused by transferable permits?

Mark, why should archery hunters be allow to harvest two deer when BP and General gun only get to harvest one and only a buck. Archery hunters still get the option of taking a buck or doe. I think this is called speading the harvest out more equally among hunters, since there's only so many deer to go around.

Mark, On the WMAs where a 3 point rule has been implemented the harvest rate on most after a year or two returns to what it was post 3 point rule.

>2- elimanating the takeing of Does during archery
>while implimenting the three point rule! = DROP IN
>HARVEST RATE..

Not sure what you are talking about here. If they have eliminated the taking of does on some WMAs I really don't think it was because of a 3pt rule. I have never heard at any of the deer management meetings that the implementation of a 3pt rule would also cause a no take on does.

>3- Non-transferable permits: the probability that this
>will put less hunters in the woods do to the transfer
>of the permit is very high! impossible to believe that
>there will be more deer harvested with this system
>implimented...

Do you have some data to back up this statement. I have not seen any data yet that states permit transfer is very high.

Mark, I agree with you on this. I don't think it would be that big of an impact to let a youth take whatever deer they wanted. But a family hunt is not just a youth hunt, you also have adults hunting.

>
>Add up all of this and Public land hunting has become

>implimented as is done on private leases...

The FWC is not trying to implement QMD. They are trying on some WMAs to improve the hunting by letting more bucks reach 2.5 years of age. This is what the 3pt rule does, and this is what a lot of hunters have ask for.

>DAYS TO ACTUALLY HUNT 80% OF WMAs, OF COURSE THIS NEW,
>USE IT OR LOOSE IT QUOTA SYSTEM THAT'S BEING BROUGHT
>UP! Harvest deer is why we HUNT...

Your right Mark, harvesting a deer is what most hunters want to do. But many hunters are not out to just harvest any deer, and there are many other reasons a hunter hunts. This is way you see so many WMAs with different management goals. The FWC is trying to please all hunters. Are they going about it the right way, probable not in all cases. Also remember its not always the FWC cause problems with access and short hunts. As you know the FWC is not the lead angency on many of the WMAs.
