Buddy,

You are right, you didn’t mention anything about a short stick form. However, the topic of this thread is about the short stick form (guai) , or ‘walking stick’.

I should have been more clear that I have not seen Luo demonstrate taiji. However, I have seen two of his better students do the taiji form they learned from Luo (one was Marcus Brickman and the other was in Taiwan but I can’t remember the person’s name) and my impression was that it had significant influence of Luo’s houtian bagua in it, with large, extended postures and very bagua-esque movements. In so far as it was demonstrated by these two individuals, my assessment is still that Luo’s taiji is not representative of CPL’s taiji as it was taught by Chen. That is of course not an assessment of the quality of his taiji or the quality of the modifications. My knowledge of your teacher is indeed limited, having only seen him in person when a friend of mine invited him to Sweden in the early 90s. Nevertheless, having lived for many years in Taiwan, I have heard only good things about him and have the utmost respect for him.

Buddy, you are again right about your post here not touching on some of the issues I brought up. It was perhaps inappropriate of me to bring them up here. There is, however, a history of you making statements about where Wang learned various parts of his martial arts on emptyflower and other places. Your post here was merely a continuation of those and I reacted to it based on what I know of your other posts, quite a few of which i have found abrasive and arrogant. Unless people have read what your have written before, my post was definitely ‘out of the blue’. I do apologise for that.

I choose to be ‘anonymous’ in a public forum because I want to (although I’d say my initials are as anonymous, or not, as “Buddy”) . Simple as that. I do, however, just like you, provide a valid email address in case anybody wants to exchange ideas, thoughts or whatever - in which case I would of course not be anonymous.

I am sorry for interrupting the original poster's thread.
