So i just looked at the movement you referred to. I my view, that's a typical 'lu' and exists in that form and other forms in all three arts. My teachers call that one 'shang lu,' or upper lu, to distinguish it from the lower lu. But, it's still lu. While you can see similar movements in the sixth palm of CPL's Longxing bagua youshenzhang before you 'liao', and of course in many of the turns in the xingyi forms, as it is performed in the CPL taiji form, it seems to me to be just an ordinary taiji lu...

anyway....I guess it doesn't really matter either way : ) Semantics.
