The alcoholic comment was made about a year and a half ago. But that's just the point--can we really take everything that a comedian says seriously? Of course not. Maybe there's a grain of truth? Sure, otherwise he wouldn't bring it up. But just because he comments on it doesn't mean he's a full-blown alcoholic puking into his swimming pool, or that he's a diabetic on kidney dialysis every two weeks.

Ryan might just have a blood sugar problem and just has to watch it on that point; my family's the same way, but we've never been diagnosed with diabetes anywhere down the line, just low blood sugar. Don't eat sugar before you eat a good meal, in other words. And the same with drinking.

His remarks on both--diabetic and alcoholic--don't necessarily mean that he IS either one.
