Hi Michelle - thanks for the welcome! :)
Intel, Motorola, and Microchip are some of the biggest employers here in Phoenix, and they all make semiconductor chips (aka computer chips) that are used in almost everything you and I use on a daily basis - VCR's, TV's, cell phones, pretty much anything electical. I work for Applied Materials, a company that supplies them with the equipment to make those chips. "Chip fabs" are the factories that produce the chips.
