I can't fully swallow the theory of evolution, but at the same time, it's even more difficult to swallow the creation theory of a loving god. The reason I can't accept either theory is because, (1) With our complex genetic make-up, it seems unreasonable that the human race just 'evolved' out of a literal nothingness. To me, something had to have gotten the ball rolling. Whether that something may be another being who unknowingly mixed the wrong chemicals in a test tube and we are just an explosive mistake, (big bang?) or that something is some supreme intelligence that gave up on its parasites many years gone by. Niether is reason for me to accept (2) The theory of creationism. With the massive contradictions in the bible, it proves itself to be just the opinions and interpretations of a god, through man. So in this respect, I believe man created god, or at least the god(s) of holy books. The verse at 2nd Timothy 3:16 states that 'all' scripture is the inspiration of God'. Not some, but 'all'. So, because of this, if there are any contradictions in the bible, it makes the whole work a fallacy, and just the opinions of the prophets and disciples as to who they thought to be 'God'. There are hundreds, if not thousands of contradictions in the word of god. To state only a few: (1) 1 or 2 men?, compare Matt 8:29-31 to Mark 5:2-14, Luke 8:26-34, and Mark 10:46.(2) Jesus crucified/impaled...compare Mark 15:25 and John 19:14. (3) Judas's death? Matt. 27:5 and Acts 1:18. (4) How many angels or men? Matt. 28:2, Mark 16:5, Luke 24:4, John 20:11, 12. And yes, I have hundreds more.
Something's wrong somewhere, because if god cannot lie (Hebrews 6:18) and all scriptures are breathed by god, and there are massive contradictions, then all the words spoken by the apostles are only that, words.
I have my own views on what and who the so called god is, and I am certain this being has no hand in any of the holy books that people follow out of a fear to disobey a mythological creator.
I believe if the 'average' (?) person were to take time and read their bibles, (instead of listening to the clergy on blind faith, or looking up scriptures that are quoted from independent books) then there would be far less christians than there are. Most professed christians have no idea what subject matter lies in their bibles. All they know is what their pastors, reverends, or study books, etc tell them. If these religious leaders revealed the truth, then they could no longer have a job of misleading the lost sheep. These sheep would become Wolves of Truth...in sheeps clothing.
