I've been atheist since I was in my early 20s. I'm 42 now!

I was born and raised Catholic. I went to Catholic grammar school and high school. 12 freaking years! I was an altar boy and I read the selected bible verses in mass when I was older. I just believed it all without thinking too much about it but in all honesty all the rituals and prayers just seemed silly to me. We were always making fun of the prayers and hymns and rites by changing the words and see who would get caught laughing.

I had my first doubts when I discovered that not everyone was Catholic. How could that be? If we had the "TRUTH" how could anyone NOT be Catholic. I also remember in religion class in high school how the priest used Paley's argument from desing as a proof of god. He described a universe in perfect harmony but I knew enough about astronomy to know that he wasn't right by a long shot. Stars blow up in supernovas and galaxies collide and eject star systems into space. Cool stuff!

>meetup yet?
Not yet. I'm planning to go to the next one.
