Hey to all Galaxy Ladies! As some of you are already aware, we have the annual Polar Plunge coming up, here in Virginia Beach. It's an awesome winter festival type event to raise great $$ for Special Olympics. We had signed up to volunteer, then thought it would be great to make this a group volunteer/appearance opportunity! I do not have all the details still...but here's what I do know:
When? Saturday, Feb 5th. Events start 10am, actual 'Plunge' is at 2:30pm.
Where? Ocean Front!! between 6th & 9th Streets.

What I am thinking is that if we have a group of 'Royal' volunteers, it will be great fun, we could be helping on the beach itself, with registration, t shirts, I'm not sure. As volunteers, wherever is needed. Should be great photo opp though!
I am thinking for now that most of you would be able to drive down Saturday morning...would be about 2 hrs from Richmond to give perspective to those not used to the drive.

I will post additional details as soon as they update me. In the meantime, would love an idea of about how many would be able to make it? Tentative number at least, maybe we can have some extra fun while everyone's here!

Would any of you be interested in staying down on the beach after the plunge? I would be happy to make reservations for a room overlooking the ocean :-) There would be a place to go, change 'warm up' if need be, and to spend Saturday night before going home. And cost could be split, let me know if interested! Several hotels right on the boardwalk are offering good 'Plunge' rates

Hi -

That sounds like a great opportunity and I would love to meet all of you as well. Is there anyone from the Northern VA area coming down that would like to carpool with me?

Thanks for letting us know about this!

Hope you are all having a great week.
