As some of you are already aware, we have the annual Polar Plunge coming up, here in Virginia Beach. It's an awesome winter festival type event to raise great $$ for Special Olympics. We had signed up to volunteer, then thought it would be great to make this a group volunteer/appearance opportunity! I do not have all the details still...but here's what I do know: When? Saturday, Feb 5th. Events start 10am, actual 'Plunge' is at 2:30pm. Where? Ocean Front!! between 6th & 9th Streets. What I am thinking is that if we have a group of 'Royal' volunteers, it will be great fun, we could be helping on the beach itself, with registration, t shirts, I'm not sure. As volunteers, wherever is needed. Should be great photo opp though! I am thinking for now that most of you would be able to drive down Saturday morning...would be about 2 hrs from Richmond to give perspective to those not used to the drive. I will post additional details as soon as they update me. In the meantime, would love an idea of about how many would be able to make it? I would be happy to make reservations for a room overlooking the ocean :-) There would be a place to go, change 'warm up' if need be, and to spend Saturday night before going home.
