Banging Our Heads Against the Wall

We are banging our heads against the wall,
time and time again, it seems that is all.
It really doesn't matter, if we care that much,
there are still a lot of people, you cannot touch.

How I wish this world was considerate and kind,
but alas, a futile dream it is, a state of mind.
Can you envision or see it with your own eyes?
Very few care, nor appreciate, they just despise.

No matter how hard we find ourselves trying,
they seem to disregard it and leave us crying.
They do not see our effort at all, so refrain,
it will only make you very sad and go insane.

Those wretched, greedy, self indulgers of self,
will ignore our kindness, placing us on the shelf,
in some remote, dark place, in the regions vain,
up on the highest walls of ingratitude and pain.

So dear kindness, kind one, persons of care,
do not stretch out your neck, nor linger it there.
These beast of self, will chop it off with zeal,
and devour your head and heart, it's all too real.

Under foot it will be thrown,stomped totally flat,
then picked up and eaten, or something like that.
They do not appreciate goodness or hearts so kind,
they have no gratitude nor compassion in their mind.

So kind one, save your kindness for others you see,
that will appreciate your effort, someone like me.
For I have banged my head on this trifle experience,
and am here to testify to you, for your own deliverance.

Heed, I tell you, the wall is hard, but not the head,
we cannot give fruit of kindness to those who are dead.
Seek the living, they live, they thrive,and are alive,
they will see your efforts and why you strive.

Don't bang your head on that wall, as I did or do,
be wiser than I and discerning, and selective too.
Protect your caring nature from harm, that old beast,
and if you do that, I am ecstatic, or grateful at least.
