Hydrophobia.



The sea is deadly calm and deep, cold fingers
Touch my ankles and try to drag me down as I swim towards a shore that never seems to come nearer.
I turn my head and see shadows surge. The shore
Is bleak no one there to help me; arms paralysed and
I sink deeper into a sea indifferent to my struggle.
A seagull circles above, it has got evil, jaundiced eyes, soon it will swoop down and with its yellow beak blind me. Enveloped by darkness and red, exploding stars,
I hear music and the sound of familiar voices.
Nothing matters anymore as I slide into soft oblivion.
