Subject: the walker in the park

What the Picture Told.


The afternoon sun of fall warmed
Her middle aged face, it had been
A long summer…too long, she
Didn't care for spring and summers
Anymore, it pained her to see
Life's renewal and nature making
Love it only accentuated her own
Loneliness. Soon it would be
Winter and white peace descend.
She used to like the cold season, it
Gave her a sense of rest to see
Nature sleeping, but not anymore.
The branches of the tree she walked
Past everyday, whispered her name
And drew her nearer…it would be
So easy, no more the feeling of
Being useless, an elderly woman
Without a child and free of the din
Of silence in her flat.
In the park they found a woman
Hanged, her neighbours couldn't
Understand why such a nice soft
Spoken woman would commit
Suicide.
