Subject: Meet Me In The Moonlight

Meet Me In The Moonlight

Silence descends as birds fly to their nest
Cricket voices sing in the evening air
Sounds are hushed as all settle in to rest
The forest creatures come out of their lair
Sweet winds now blow in gentle caresses
To whisper in leaves while shadow extends
The sky turns violet as night progresses
Daylight is softened as nature intends
I see silhouettes of trees in the dark
As I gaze at the star filled skies above
Hearing the sweet song of the meadow lark
Taking the path leading to my true love
I can see you there as I hoped tonight
Praying you would meet me in the moonlight
