This was a first experience for them, so he was at his most careful. He proceeded with caution, but her response encouraged his gentle kiss to go a bit farther. One of his hands slid around to cup the base of her skull gently, fingers tangling in her golden locks, fingers tickling gently against the nape of her neck as he broke away for a second, but returned to her lips easily, nothing too demanding, nothing too personal, but enough to let her know exactly how he felt about her - he might even be falling in love here.
