With all the things that plague our New York City school system. This hunt for erasing indian names is ridiculous!
I played for the "mighty Mighty Blue Chiefs" We took pride in our name, and I still do!

With all low test scores, drugs, crime, and many other things(That has been around and rising for bout a decade)
They are trying to attack Canarsie High team names.

Let pose a question to all who read this!
We all heard of Cherokee, Suiox, and Seminole indians right?
What makes Canarsie's situation unique from the other schools in New York, andwhatpeople may not know. The Canarsee indians are an tribe of indians, hence the name "Canarsie" Keep up with me now!

The Chiefs have now changed their name to the Canarsie Thunder! Doesnt this new name still give an fear striking indian attack. The canarsie indians are thundering towards you!

Same effect as Canarsie Chiefs, if not worst!
With The Canarsie Chiefs, there was no emotion expressed, now these same canarsie indians are thundering towards us.

Any name that Canarsie chooses will be seem degrading to someone, unless theyname themselves the powder puffs, or cottonballs!

Just think about it!

If our school is named after indians, this is an honor. But think about, this is sports, football, cmon canarsie football, your name sends a message. The chiefs is the best name for this.

Notice how its alwaysnon native americans making these decisions, I have lived in canarsie 20 of my 26 years have not ever seen a native american.

Next we will have to change name from Canarsie to George Bush High School, rather close school first!>>
