Comicality was 22 when he posted New Kid In School in 1998. In just a couple of weeks, on May 2nd, he would have been 48.

I don't remember if I read 'New Kids' the day it was posted, but it was that weekend. When I finished, I wrote a thank you message to Comicality and was surprised when I got a response. We've been penpals ever since. Since we were both in the Chicago area, we even met a few times for burgers and beers.

He was crushed when his mother retired and decided to move back to her family in Georgia. But he moved with her to keep her safe. Two or three times a year he'd order a care package of beef from Portillo's to remind him of his Sweet Home, Chicago.

Every time we talked, he daydreamed about when he'd come back to Chicago. But that wasn't going to happen.

Another thing that isn't going to happen is an end to any of his neverending stories. They'll just fade away... unless we continue them for him.
