Subject: HELP!

Every damned time I try to make a video, or watch a movie, or something that has to do with video of some kind on my computer, I get this bright blue screen that pops up saying that it's dumping physical memory and a bunch of other numbers and gibberish (to me) basically saying that my computer has crashed. Anyone know what's going on? I have about 5 videos I want to do and haven't been able to.

[> We have talked about this and it could be needs more RAM. Also the numbers and other gibberish on the screen can give more clues to what is wrong so need to jot this info down and then do a Google search to see if it can be pinpointed to something specific. -- Hope, 08:37:24 07/28/08 Mon [1]

[> DH, my resident computer nerd (lol) said it could be a heat problem, or a hard drive or hard drive cable that has gone bad, a video card problem, a bad stick of memory (RAM). Inside -- JAG Junkie (Ronda), 17:52:04 07/29/08 Tue [1]

Go to Control Panel, Administrative tools, Event Viewer, System, and look for any warnings or alerts that look weird.

He also suggested looking online for a program called "memtest". Get the version you can burn to a CD to basically make a "boot disk". Boot your computer from that disk and run the test. This will tell you if you have a memory problem.

DH has had his share of computer problems and has learned all this stuff the hard way! LOL
