Subject: The old sim-sub dilemma revisited

At last, I have some time to work on my writing. So, first I looked at my story tracker list. A couple of stories I sent out as sim subs have received rejections from the American (gasp!) magazines I sent them to; but I've heard nothing from the Canadian lit mags that received the same stories. Yes, it's been many moons (a year in one case) since I sent those stories out.

Now, I wonder if I shouldn't have been polite and told the mags that the stories were simultaneous submissions.

And what line do you use in your letters to tell a mag that what you are sending is also being sent to others?

Or, do you even say so. Sometimes, I'm tempted to forego mentioning it at all. There are so few good Canadian mags and sometimes, they are so damnably slow to reply.

Okay, rant over, for now.
