There are some good things. We had an election without armed guards at the polling stations, it took only seven weeks, and today we know that we avoided a Conservative majority. As it is, Harper will have to compromise with either the PQ or the NDP, both of which are left-wing parties.

Harper would likely have had a majority, if he hadn't shot himself in the foot with that crack about the Arts. That cost him all of his potential Quebec seats. Who says the Arts are not important?
