Yes, Harper's attack on the arts cost him probable seats in Quebec. Wish all Canadians were as passionate about arts and culture as les Quebecois are.
The ridings in this area were all taken by Conservatives. We've now elected two right-to-life guys. One of them is EXTREMELY right wing. In my riding, we lost the Liberal Whip and she was a very good member. The NDP here did not have a chance and all they did was take 7,000 votes away from a potential winner. Sigh.
At least the Cons do not have a majority.
On the plus side, watching this has helped me further define one of the characters in my novel - he's entranced by the idea of becoming an member of parliament.
