Jason Rosenbaum sent me a letter, looking to "update their records" and wondering why I wasn't sending them money. That got me to thinking. Here is an excerpt from his letter, and my reply.

Hey Edward D. - The House GOP is driving us toward a government shutdown, again. This time they’re holding disaster funding hostage, demanding job creation programs be gutted in return. The Democratic Senate declared it DOA, fortunately. But it’s absurd to sacrifice Americans in need, while tanking the economy in an effort to pin it on the President. But welcome to today’s Grand Old Party.
We are updating records this weekend and I noticed that your online support this year was still pending (copy/pasted your supporter record below). Can you help stop the Tea Party from taking over Congress? The GOP House’s actions are a good reminder of how important this razor thin, four seat majority is in the Senate. Without this firewall there would be no way to stop them.
Dear Jason -
Not only has the Democratic party failed to "stop the Tea-party," they have enabled it a put forward its regressive proto-Fascist agenda, by endowing it with a false importance, and "caving in" to most of its "demands." If Democrats in general had the courage of their convictions, they'd be receiving my support, as Kirsten Gillibrand, Bernie Sanders and Dennis Kucinich are.
The failure of this Administration and it's mainstream "Democratic" supporters (Roosevelt Democrats whirl in their graves every time they hear them call themselves by the Party name) to uphold the rights and meet the needs of the vast majority of our citizens, to stand up for us and eliminate the vastly disproportionate influence of special interests in government is simply shameful. The way a number of Democrats have flagrantly colluded with some of the worst elements in the Republican Party is reprehensible.
I'll make a deal, Jason. You get the DNC to withdraw support from the Democrats-in-name-only and turncoats like Joe Lieberman who feather their own nests and support the interests of their own wealthy class at the expense of 90% of the American people, and I'll support you. Until then, as far as I'm concerned, you don't need me, and you have nothing to offer me that I want.
