Subject: Family Memories

Wally Boag is my dad's cousin, and my family enjoyed a lot of happy family times together at Disneyland, especially for my great granny's birthday (Wallys and my dad's grandma). No birthday was complete without seeing Wally on stage at the Golden Horseshoe review. I was fascinated at how he could "spit out his teeth" (he'd keep white beans in the pocket of his cheek) whenever he wanted... I always wanted to be able to do that! One of my fondest memories as a little girl was being called up on stage with my little brother (I was eight, and I think steve was five) during Wally's part of the show. He made us balloon dogs, and when he asked my brother what kind of dog he wanted, he thought real hard, and then whispered "a puppy: into the microphone. (We called him Uncle Wally - we didn't understand how someone so much older could be a cousin!). He was scared by the resulting laughter:-) We still love to go find Wally's window on mainstreet, and Disneyland just isn't Disneyland for me without seeing Slew Foot Sue's costume - I thought she was THEEEEE most beautiful, glamorous lady I'd ever seen. I remember she let me wear her feather boa once, and I think that still, in the depths of my heart, I consider a sparkly blue salloon dress and feather boa to be the soul of glamour!:-)

...with his Revue Show at Disneyland. I recently had the privledge of meeting Wally at The Golden Horseshoe Variety Show's last performance with magician, Dana Daniels. I finally got up the nerve to ask for an autograph and I dearly treasure it and the picture we took together. Wally is one of those people that you just can't help but like. God bless him.
