I had went thru a meeting with Orions. It seem wad they offer is u pay a certain fee to them so they will help you to cancel your timeshare. Its about $5,000 or more.

There is a certain cashback program too. But that means u have to fork out additional money and I think the cashback is also not guaranteered one lor. So might as well skip it.

On top of it, u are suppose to join a vacation "package" where u pay think $75 annually or use their service. Sounds weird to me, why u have to do that.

Btw, read somewhere in this forum that U dun have to pay your maintenance fee if u write in to your timeshare company and terminate your membership and give up your week. Not sure if its true. If it is, then.. why waste money getting lawyers to settle your timeshare?

Anyway, I was there for 6 hours. Initially was a guy, then his boss, then the company lawyer, then his Managing director.

Erh .. felt intimidating leh. Went to LGM before, also sthg like that, a lady, then her boss, then a lawyer (who is suppose to tell u the terms) then when I really want to leave, their Managing director personally come and see me.

So, in the end, I just walked out. Too tired to even think and I had learnt enuff from my timeshare experience never to make any decision when I am tired.

Don't trust all these companies trying to help u sell your timeshare. U will get into a lot more trouble than u already are. And u will loose more of your hard-earned money. Most of these companies are affiliated with timeshare marketing companies and holiday clubs. And u will find that your particulars are circulated around and u will get calls from God Knows Whom. Please be wary my friends. Your timeshare has no resale value. Just use it if u want to keep paying your increasing maintenance fees or subscription and let these foreigners take u for a ride with your precious dollars. Or just let your membership expire by not paying your maintenance fees or annual subscription. Caveat Emptor!

OK... I am trying George's advice... and trying to go one better...

I just faxed International Vacation Ownership on a copy of their "Management Charge Invoice / Statement of Account" with my own message written clearly in a central space:

"I hereby instruct you to donate my 'membership' [number added] to an officially recognised charity, Unicef, with immediate effect."

Signed [my signature, 28 Jan 2006]

I guess they will all have a good laugh... then send the boyz round!

Cheers for CNY... Gong xi fa cai.
