] Date Posted: Mon, Oct 24 2005, 16:38:38 My wife and I attend a sales presentation by Oriental Travel Pte Ltd , 350 Orchard Road, #12- 08 Shaw Tower, Singapore. 1. We were told it is not a time share and not multi - level . They are wholesales tour company that can purchase tour packages and resort accommodation from source. The company claims that it could eliminates middlepersons and agents. They claim that they do not operates from huge premises, does not have many staffs and does not advertise.The huge saving could be passed to its members. 3. During presentation, examples of tour packages that costs thousands originally, was discounted by 40 - 60 %. The presenter highlighted this figure to us. 2.We were told that we must decide today to enjoy the Gold Privilege membership. To come a day later, would render us to Silver Privilege membership. The membership cost $23,800! 4. We paid a $5000. The balance $12,000 was paid two months later after exchanging our travel voucher to pay the membership fee. 5. NOW come the SURPRISE!!! 6. A 10 days Turkey trip : First $2070 by fly by SIA $1668 by Gulf Air. We checked the newspaper and the SAME packages was advertised for $1668. Not a cent cheaper. The itinary was from a local tour company. So much for their wholesaler and buying from source! 7. We protested. Comes the second quote : $1578 We checked the newspaper and the same package was advetised by SA Tours for the same price!. The itinerary is also from SA Tours. 8. We protested and the consultant said," There is nothing I can do". What I cannot understand it that the sales represented are local Singapore who would conspire to deceive to fellow Singaporean. They had, times and again, assured us that they are indeed tour wholesalers. Where is their conscience? 10. We have refered our case to CASE. I would be a long and tedious to get back our money. 11. In the meantime, I have make appointment to see a lawyer. My lawyer, in the meantime, asked whether I could get any witness. 12. Thank God, I have found this support group.
