Firstly, there's a big misconception abt timeshare with you Singaporeans cuz you guys dun really understand what timeshare truly means. Do u take a bus/mrt/plane rides? Do you book trips from travel agents? When you are studying in school, do you pay for your school fees? Do you know that all the above activities are actually timesharing? You can't possibly book the entire bus or mrt exclusively to urself just to go to work cuz the overhead costs is too high...you can't possibly book the entire travel agency exclusively to urself for your own tours...You can't possibly book the entire school premises for yourself just to study cuz over high overhead costs as well. Thus the services above hav to be shared among a group of ppl so that each individual will not only get to enjoy the benefits of the services provided and also pay much lesser. This is what we call economies of scale benefits...This is what timesharing is all about. Ppl have been involved in timesharing since the day they were born and will be timesharing for the rest of their lives and that is a fact that will never be changed. If you guys are to do your own research online regarding timeshare, don't be surprised to find fantastic reviews about the product cuz those who own TRUE timeshare are actually proud and happy to be vacation owners having to spend much lesser and have more freedom and flexibility over each and every of their holidays. The reason why many Singaporeans are badly burnt in timeshare is simply because they don't even know what they are buying in the first place. Timeshare has a lot of specifics you need to look into before you even make a buying decision. Firstly, your home resort is very crucial in determining if you get your holidays. This is due to the exchange power. The higher the demand for your home resort, the higher the chances you get the holidays you desire. The 5 most recommended home resorts with high exchange power are respectively : Florida, Spain, Australia, Thailand & Bali. So if your home resorts are in any of these places, chances of you getting ur desired holidays are rather high. The second thing you gotta know is that the colour of your entitled weeks..from what I understand..timeshare has 3 colour codes for the weeks. They are red, blue and white. The advice i can give is to opt for the red week cause you'll be given priority each time you make a booking..blue and white weeks are not really recommended. Lastly, the suite you buy must @ least be a one bedroom suite. The reason is simple cuz the if you are to read timeshare resort brochures, studio units are least available in most hotels and resorts. This is one of the reasons why a lot of ppl have problems when it comes to booking their holidays. With a one-bedrm suite, you'll almost be guranteed a booking depending on the colour of your owned week. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: Wed, Sep 14 2005, 22:03:25 Hey Gandalf, what on earth are you babbling about? Why are u confusing pple here with analogies between buses\mrt\schools and timeshare? Why do you think Singaporeans have misconceptions about timeshare in the first place? Surely it has to do with what the seller projected to the buyers using whatever tactics isn't it? Date Posted: Tue, Nov 22 2005, 3:08:43 I totally agree with what Gandalf is saying. Rashid, im not trying to be a smart alex here but try to think of it and do your research. Why TIMESHARING is selling like hotcakes in the west and MALAYSIA?? I'll give you one eg. U ever heard about Berjaya Timeshare which i doubt you have. Why are the members are happy with their TIMESHARE?? There's no qualms bout it. They also signed on the dotted line like other TIMESHARE members did in Singapore. TIMESHARE is good if you know what you are buying and how to use it. My aunt owns Berjaya Timeshare and she's happy with it. But we cant please the masses can we? Do you know that HYATT are doing TIMESHARE as well Rashid?? I'm not asking you to agree with what i'm saying but try to get in touch with a Berjaya Timeshare members and they will tell you every single detail bout it. Try to go to Johor for shopping at any of the shopping malls and you'll be surprise to see that they are selling Berjaya Timeshare in the open. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
