In reply to: Wylie 's message, "VANASIA Consultancy" on Mon, Nov 17 2003, 17:45:15

I too faced the same problem. I managed to get the staff to indicate on the application form that it is money guarantee back within 12 months. I am very doubtful of them getting sincere buyer. The company will send an offer letter with offer date 10 Jan 2004, and the letter accompanying the offer dated 13 Jan 2004 and send the letter out 2 days later. All the while, you are given 3 working days to response otherwise the offer will lapse. By the time, you receive the letter, the offer will be lapsed. In this way, their argument is that they have acquired you a 'buyer' at a price which is very low and the seller did not response to the offer.
I am now pursing the case against them with CASE and if this does not work out, I will consider a legal way. The reason I am doing this is for the good of the society so that no more people will be caugth in this situation. It will be good if people who have been caugth in this situation to get in touch with me so that my case against them will be stronger. If I win this case, you then can follow to claim back your money.

Hi Tien Seng,

I signed up with VanAsia sometime back as well. Am wondering the outcome of your claim against them with CASE. Did you managed to get your money back?

I am in the situation as you. I paid $750 thinking that it would be refunded if no successful purchase was made but later found out that the contract stated that it would not be refundable once an interested buyer was found! Didn't matter whether the sale went through or not. I'm going to write to Vanasia to demand a refund, failing which CASE is the next step. Please keep me informed of your progress.

Regards
Dr Chee
