Subject: Pornography debate...

Ok, so this is all in response to Adam's defense comment for the pornography industry. I think that it's very sad that a woman or a man has to be objectified in any way, this including pornography, commercials, TV shows, movies, celebrities, and media in general. We, of course, have to think about what happens to us every time we open up a fashion magazine and we don't feel beautiful anymore. We have to take into consideration how many times a day we are told we are fat by the diet commercials, pills, new weighloss systems and excercise machines they are selling on TV. It is horrible that every time we turn around, there is a new trend that we can't afford to keep up with, or a new hairstyle that we can't quite pull-off. BUT, why do we do this? 95% of the time it isn't for ourselves. Everyone wants to look nice to pick up that new love, or that new fling. We live in a sex filled society where the objective of life anymore, is to look beautiful so we are wanted. I promise that it isn't for those nights when you want to cozy up by the fire for a nice converation. It is for those times when you want to look sexy in that horribly uncomfortable new $85 Victoria's Secret lace...thing... The pornography industry pushes that in our faces every fucking time we turn around. We need to look 'hot' for our partner. If we didn't live in a society that was so overwhelmed with pornography, half of our problems would be gone. Our men and women would start realizing that those pictures are in no way, shape, or form a reality. Models form less than 1% of our entire world. Why do we encourage the basis of most of our problems? If we didn't have an entire industry based on the impossible and unrealistic sexual dream for most people, women and men around our world may start loving themselves for who they really are. They won't have to worry that they don't look 'hot' enough and their parter is going to be thinking about the girl in the movie instead of her. We have to start somewhere...why not with the root of all our insecurities? Start big and the rest of the problems will slowly disapear with it. So, Adam, if you want to talk more about this...I would love to start a running debate. Others feel free to chip in...I love opinions!! Everyone have a happy day, and remember we are just as beautiful as those women and men on TV because we are REAL!
