Yeah, I knew that review’s days at Amazon.com were numbered very early on, which is partially why I ‘fessed up to my attempt at trickery on this board. It was already batting like 1 in 14 in terms of customer approval a few days after it was posted (hello, Der Buell). I don’t know if La Beeb visits this site anymore, I haven’t seen one of her crazy posts for awhile. She’s got to be too busy writing her fake Amazon.com reviews, those things must take time (a new one, from Jay Jay, an old rocker in "Motor City" who had to save up his money to buy Rebel Heart is priceless, maybe the best yet). Still, I really thought she might not get it taken down again if it had a five-star rating, but clearly my review really bothers her. Just goes to show you can’t put anything past Bebe!
I have a feeling it’s pretty hard to get information on how many copies a book has sold—-not that it’s top-secret I just don’t think it’s easy to find--but I too would be interested to know how many copies were printed and how many they’ve sold. Maybe I’ll call up St. Martin’s Press, pretend to be from a remainder company, and see if they want to unload copies of Rebel Heart at dirt-cheap prices. That would at least tell us if it’s been a flop.
I’m just kidding, of course....
