Subject: stuff the turkey & pass the excuses

Bush’s Thanksgiving stopover in Iraq reminded me of Coopersville’s new Tugger System.
(1) an inadequate plan, understaffed and overestimated
(2) incompetent management
(3) turkey for personnel relations..... fake turkey at that

We are in trouble. Not because of competition. We are in trouble because management has tunnel vision. They are so intent on reducing jobs they don’t see how much production is lost to mechanical malfunction. Tyrone likes to remind that every 2.3 seconds is worth $7 on the Final Assembly Bodine. In which case, every time the Final shuts off for no fault [the readout spells DELPHI] it will cost at least 4.6 seconds, or fourteen dollars. This occurs 30, 40 or more times a night when we run US-CAR. More than double my wages. What have they done to fix it? They walked me out because I refused to cover up for bad management when the Tugger System failed again.
If it’s not one thing it’s another. I won’t bore you enumerating all the deficiencies of my operation, everyone has their own list. The point is – reducing workers won’t increase production or quality when the mechanics of the process is faulty and no one will tell Fred Brown anything that he doesn’t want to hear. Well, a few of us have, but you’ve seen what happens to trouble makers.
