That is awesome that you (and your hairdresser) got your husband to start using rollers! I went through a similar process with my husband—he has shoulder length gorgeous hair and his hairdresser and I convinced him to try a roller set under the dryer. He was reluctant at first but once he saw how adorable his hair looked after being set (and hearing the compliments from women, several of whom asked if he roller-set his hair), he was hooked. We both use Velcro rollers several times a week, just about every time we wash our hair, and we are now regulars at our salon for a weekly shampoo-n-set. I usually set his hair in the evening, so he can dry it under my bonnet dryer. On Saturdays I usually do us both in rollers and we’ll spend the day in them. We love spending time together with our hair up in rollers, and we’ve even popped out to the market and the nail salon a few times in our rollers!
I have to agree with your husband, though, on a perm. We’ve both tried perms but we end up setting our hair in rollers daily anyway, and we enjoy the flexibility of curling or not curling our hair. I think perms can be damaging to your hair. I would enjoy his roller sets and not force him into a perm unless he’s up for trying it.
