Rest assured, people have already started to "ponder". Another 1 million people in the U.S. filed for u.i. for the first time last week. One third of the economy has been destroyed so far. Tax revenues will be reduced to the point they can't be offset by increased tax rates (they'll be increased regardless). The federal reserve just announced it will let inflation run because their figures say it's been stuck at 2%. Meanwhile, the $ keeps losing its purchasing power. The public sector will have to down size beyond a reduction in the civil service component.
