I don't think where you were born or lived should dictate your level of commitment to civic service. Granted, I'm not a fan nor will I vote Anusha but it's that type of provincial attitude that keeps this city stagnant and inhibits grow.

Omari is fighting so hard because this is his ONLY source of income. He has no other source of income. He doesn't live in Newburgh and has been living off his girlfriend, Anne Sullivan for years. He lives at her house, and drives her car; he's worried he'll have to get a real job.
