The city govt and schools are connected as to the wholeness of this city. Crappy schools = uneducated population = crime = fewer businesses = unemployment = poverty = crappy city;

Crappy city governance = poor quality of life = poor schools = less employment opportunities = poverty = poor performing students.

Posters will bring up all topics that come to mind city and school. Currently the school is full of crap. The city elections are important so bring on your discussions. But don't think each is separate. That is what politicians may think but we now better - we are all connected.
