Subject: Sea Cruise

If all goes well, the new pier at Newburgh Landing will open in 2028. It will be able to be used by recreational boaters, the Newburgh Beacon Ferry, and even ocean liners. Some ocean liners currently do fall foliage cruises on the Hudson. In planning the new pier, the city administration has contacted some lines to be sure that the city’s design plans would allow them to dock at Newburgh.

It would be a boost to the economy and to Newburgh’s image if this were to take place. Mayor Harvey, who is in sore need of taking a course in Economics 101, and many other courses to fill in his severe educational gaps, is stating that you will be able to cruise from Newburgh to the Caribbean and to Europe. I suspect that the mayor listens to oldies radio stations or to Sirius xm, where he hears Frankie Ford’s 1950s song “Sea Cruise”, one of the lines which is “Won’t ya let me take you on a sea cruise?” Bon voyage!
